RUGIPO staff protest over unpaid salary



The academic and non academic staff of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic Owo (RUGIPO) have staged a peaceful protest over the non payment of staff salaries and other arrears.


Speaking at the protest, the chairman of National Association of Staff Union Ondo State and RUGIPO chapter, comrade Obayoriade Adebayo said they staged the protest to create awareness over unpaid salaries of their workers by the Ondo state government, hereby appealing to state government to come to their aids.


During the protest, the chairman of SSANIP Rugipo chapter comrade Prince Olowolade who said the union is against maladministration stressed that the state government should always meet their demands as of when due.


The rector of the institution, Gani Ogundahunsi who appreciated the aggrieved union members for their patriotism, appealed and assured that the school management is already working with the state government to meet up with their demands.

At the time of filling this report, the protesting staff have resumed their duties, it is however not clear if academic activities will resume immediately.
