Students and National bodies of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic RUGIPO have decried the reported encounter of the institution's student, Ademola Olayori Folarera with Amotekun corps which ended in his eventual death yesterday, Thursday 7th of July 2022.
The National bodies include the National congress of Akoko Students (NACAS), National Association of Ondo State students(NAOSS), National Association of Polytechnic students (External affairs) NANS, National Association of Nigeria Student NANS JCC Ondo AXIS and Owo Local Government Area Student Union OLGASU.
Ademola who was said to be a native of Akoko was reportedly shoot several times by the corp and had been hospitalized for a few days before his death.
NACAS while calling on the state government to intervene in what it called unwelcomed action by the corp in cutting short the life of a bright and promising student, urge students to be watchful and vigilant.
The associations cried out that Amotekun corp officers have failed by shooting which led to the eventual death death of a student in one of the institutions in the State.
"Amotekun has failed us" they exclaimed
