Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde has revealed that the state 73 people who had at one point tested positive for coronavirus have been discharged.
Makinde, who revealed this on his official twitter handle said, they were discharged after testing negative for the virus the second time.
"Seventy-three confirmed COVID-19 cases received their second NEGATIVE test results and have been discharged. This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to 1654."
He revealed that nine suspected cases in the state has came back positive.
"Also, the COVID-19 confirmation tests for nine suspected cases came back POSITIVE. The cases are from Ibadan North (4), Egbeda (3), Oluyole (1) and Ido (1) Local Government Areas. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State today is 2967."
The governor however urged residents to report any suspected cases to the appropriate quarters.
"Please call the Emergency Operations Centre on 08095394000 | 08095863000 | 08078288999 | 08078288800 if you have any COVID-19 symptoms: cough, fever, tiredness, body ache, loss of smell/taste and shortness of breath."
