Residents of Ondo state and environs have trooped out enmasse today to welcome Eleven APC Governors, ministers, members of the National Assembly, leaders of the APC and other dignitaries as they officially flag-off the re-elecrion campaign of the state governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredoku, today.
The state capital's sports stadium, venue of the event, was filled to the brim as the people of the state trooped out enmass to attend the rally despite the heavy downpour.
Governors present at the flag-off includes Yobe State Governor and Chairman, APC National Caretaker Committe, Mai Mala Buni, Kebbi State governor Atiku Abubakar Bagudu, Governor and Chairman, APC Governor’s Forum, Chairman Ondo APC National Campaign Council and Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwoolu and Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, Kwara state Governor, AbdulRahman AdulRasak, Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, Niger State Governor, Sani Bello and the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief David Onoja.
Speaking during the flag-off rally of the re-election campaign of Akeredolu, Tinubu said the PDP stands no chance in the October 10 election.
Although there are 17 candidates in the election, political pundits have however said the race is between Akeredolu and Eyitayo Jegede, candidate of the PDP.
But addressing APC supporters at Akure Township Stadium on Saturday, Tinubu said: “You don’t fight the PDP. There is no point fight a corpse inside the coffin, just settle down and calmly nail their coffin.”
He however asked the party members to rally round Akeredolu and give him all the support he needs to lead the state.
Others present are, Ministers for Transportations, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Ameachi, Minister of state for Petroleum, Timipre Silva, Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Tayo Alasoadura and other notable leaders were also at the event.
