Reactions trail NANS change of tune

Students across the country have taken to the social media to register their displeasure at the recent move by the leadership of the Nation Association of Nigerian Students supporting the re-election of Ondo state governor.

Life is filled with a lot of twist and bends, this is the case with the leadership of the  National Association of Nigerian Students NANS and the leadership of Ondo state government under Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

With the governorship election of the state in view, the leadership of NANS have met and join hands with the governor to support his re-election bid.

It would be recalled that in 2019, NANS president, Bamidele Akpan Danielson had lambasted the governor for the increase in tuition fees. Every opportunity he had then he registered his displeasure at the development in tertiary institutions in Ondo state.

In recent development, the NANS president was seen in a meeting with Akeredolu were he pledged support for the governor's re-election bid. Meanwhile, Students in Ondo state tertiary institutions are still lamenting the hardship suffered because of the increased tuition fee.

According to reports, the governor had also promised to reduce the tuition fee he increased with the aim of making schools generate more revenue for the state.

With this recent development, many questions are however begging for answers,

How are parents taking the twist?

Are Ondo students contented?

Is NANS leadership really representing the interest of Nigerian students?
