The Government of Ekiti State has stepped up its fight against covid-19 with a plan to expand the State medical facilities to be able to respond more quickly to the pandemic.
Also, the State Government has begun the upgrading of the State's primary healthcare facilities starting with the Primary Healthcare Centre in Okeyinmi, Ado Ekiti.
Revealing this in a tweet on its twitter handle the state governmrnt said "this project will be executed with the invaluable assistance of members of the #COVID19 Response Resource Mobilization Committee."
"Government is also undertaking additional construction work in EKSUTH and Oba Adejugbe Infectious Disease Hospital. Additionally, government shall soon embark on the upgrading of all our secondary health facilities across the State."
"For instance, another molecular laboratory is being planned for the State, this is apart from an additional one just secured by the Ekiti State University through TETFUND."
Similarly, government is expanding the State isolation centres from its current 150-bed capacity to about 500-bed capacity across Ekiti State.
