Widow's care: Odigbo, Irele benefits



Widow's in Odigbo and irele local government areas have benefitted from the widow's care initiative of the wife of Ondo state Governor,Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu.

The widows numbering about 800 in both local government areas trooped out for their palliatives, commending the present administration for bringing succor to them.

The widows were able to benefit from the Ondo widows care programme after having registered on its website,www.ondowidows.com launched by Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu.

The widows in Odigbo local government area were full of appreciation to the wife of the Governor for understanding their plight and making efforts to support and care for them.

Also in Irele local government area, the widow joy knew no bounds as they described the widows care initiative as the first of it's kind in the state.

Wife of Ondo state Governor,Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu charged all stakeholders to identify widows in their domains and support them in the best way they can.

The Governor's wife who spoke through Senior special assistant on Gender Research and Documentation,Temitope Daniyan reiterated the stand of Governor Akeredolu's administration to prioritizing widows welfare.

Technical coordinator of Ondo widows care,Ife Awoyelu said every Ondo state widow will be empowered through the program as long as they register on its database.

More widows in Ondo state are expected to benefit from the program as the tour continues in other local government areas of the state.
