Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, has emerged winner of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Governorship Primary election in Ondo state.
The Chairman of the PDP Primary Committee, Ifeanyi Ugwuayi declared Jegede, a former attorney general and commissioner for Justice which polled Eight hundred and eighty eight (888) votes to beat his closest rival, the embattled Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Agboola Ajayi polled six hundred and fifty seven (657) votes.
Other contestants in the race are Dr Eddy Olafeso who polled One hundred and seventy five (175)votes, Dr Bode Ayorinde, Ninety five (95) votes, Hon. Banji Okunomo polled Ninety (90) votes, Senator Boluwaji Kunlere, Thirty Three (33) Barr Sola Ebiseeni, Twenty Nine (29) and Prince Godday Erewa, polled Fourteen votes (14).
While giving acceptance speech, Jegege described his victory as victory for all but said it is a strong warning for APC government in the state. .
