The children in Ondo State have joined the Nigerian community of children to celebrate this year’s National Children’s Day celebration with the theme, Future now: Promoting inclusion for every Nigerian child.
Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, said his administration will continue to strengthen its commitment to the protection and welfare of every child in the state.
The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, stated this at the Children’s Day celebration held at the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Arcade in Akure, the state capital.
Wife of the governor, Esther Aiyedatiwa, while calling for equality and better treatment for children, described the celebration as a sober reflection for children, parents and teachers in captivity.
Also speaking, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Bose Osamaye, said the theme serves as a timely reminder that every child matters.
The celebration featured march past, cultural displays, songs, and other entertaining activities..
