The Ekiti state government has revealed that it has embarked on water infrastructure in the state, so as to enable potable water supply for residents.
This was confirmed on the state government twitter handle today, 19th Friday, June 2020.
According to the tweet, the state governor, Kayode Fayemi administration is about to complete some of the projects and some will commence in Ernest very soon.
" Governor Kayode Fayemi's administration is investing in water infrastructure that will guarantee potable water supply in Ekiti Ssonas"
"For instance, work is nearing completion on Ero & Egbe Dam rehabilitation and additional work will commence on Ureje & Itapaji Dams." The government added.
The Ekiti state Government further said, pipelines are currently been contructednto enable individuals have access to the water.
"Equally, pipelines conveying the water to various homes are currently being installed and water meters will follow suit apace with other water sector improvements."
The state government also said Fayemi led administrations goal is to supply about one million cubilc litters of water on daily basis.
"The vision of Governor Fayemi’s administration is to ensure that the dam functions is in its full capacity by supplying 1 million cubic litres of water daily to 10 of the 16 local government areas of the state."
It further expressed confidence in the administration of the state governor, Kayode Fayemi, to reduce waterborne disease in the state.
"Governor Fayemi’s administration is confident that Ekiti State will witness a comprehensive return to the supply of pipe-borne water and a reduction in water-borne diseases."
