Residents of Akinyele Local Government in Ibadan, Oyo state capital has raised alarm over the incessant attacks in the area.
Calling on the state government and police to be proactive in their fight against insecurity, they said then recent attack happened at around 1am midnight.
According to residents, the assailants had failed to gain entry to other houses before they unleashed terror on the victims, one Mrs Areola Bamidele and her daughter Dolapo in their home.
Some lamented that the attacks have not been because then local govt in located in a remote area adding it shared fence with the University of Ibadan.
The victims are however receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
"The victims, Mrs Adeola Bamidele (mother), & Dolapo (daughter), were attacked in their home 1am midnight. They are currently receiving treatment. We plead that Oyo state Governor (@seyiamakinde) charge the @PoliceNG do their job! Secure lives & properties"
"The assailants had earlier visited a nearby house but were unable to gain entry because the gate prevented them. Dolapo and her mum were unlucky. Akinyele is recording too many crimes happening. What is the commissioner of police doing differently aside relocating to the LGA?"
"You will be thinking Akinyele Local Government is one bush! No, the local government area started from where University of Ibadan main fence ended. Infact UI has large expanse of land in Akinyele. IITA, School of statistics also within the LGA. Something has to be done real quick"
