Residents of a suburb of Minna, the Niger state
capital are now mourning the recent death of a woman and her three children,
including a one-month-old baby, after they were burnt to death in their house.
It was learnt that, the second wife, simply
identified as Fati and her children were rescued with severe burn from the fire
which started at about 11.30 pm.
The husband of the mothers also identified as Baba
Abba, said to be working at Abuja and returns home at the weekend, was not at
home when the incident occurred.
In the meantime, neighbours of the victims and the
fire service are yet to find the cause of the fire.
One of the neighbours, who was said to be actively engaged
in the rescue, Musa Ibrahim, said they called the fire service immediately they
saw flames coming from the house, adding that they tried their best to rescue
the women and the children but could not as the fire was very intense.
