The regent to the Stool of Alayede of Ayede Ogbese kingdom, Her royal highness Bukola Catherine Akinyede who held her first town meeting with Ayede Ogbese residents in her palace at Ayede Ogbese in Akure North local government area, the Ondo state capital has revealed some of her missions while on the Alayede stool.
Her royal highness Akinyede who led the Oluyede royal family of Ayede Ogbese kingdom, distributed two thousand face masks and one thousand packs of food to residents of the kingdom.
During the meeting, the royal family revealed its coat of arm which has the image of an elephant crafted on it.
In her words the regent said "the royal family has not agreed on any issue because of controversies in the family, but during my tenure I will unit the family and make sure the people of Ayede Ogbese live in harmony."
On the challenges residents are facing, she said "The ritual family is taking steps to solve the challenges raised duringbthe meeting and we will meet with representatives of the kingdom so as to find lasting solutions to the shortage of power supply, lack of refuse disposal services, among others."
The Odopetu of Ayede Ogbese kingdom, High Chief Oladimaji Abitogun who commended the regent for her strategic approach to issues raised during the meeting, said the land dispute between the kingdom and Alayede can only be solved by the history of the land.
"One of the aims of this meeting is to delebratebon the land dispute between Ayede Ogbese and Alayere and repel intruders from taking away what was passed on to us byn our forefathers who founded this kingdom, this kingdom have been in existence for decades and we are the ones who arbode Alayere who are now claiming parts of our territory" he said.
He added that "thousands of naira have been spent to resolve the damaged power supply in some parts of the kingdom, but things have not gotten better.
Former caretaker ,Akure North local government area, Segun Oluyede the meeting which was organised in batch's because of the ravaging coronavirus will definitely birth positive results.
The whole royal family of Oluyede where in attendance and about 1000 residents participated in the town meeting at Ayede Ogbese palace.
Other issues discussed are, will barrow tax, planting of cannabis popularly known as Igbo, sanitation, security among others.
